Favour Auditory-Oral School is a school established in Nigeria to teach children who are hearing impaired to listen and talk like children with normal hearing through a systematic approach known as oral deaf education. Some children have complications of diverse sorts before and around birth (perinatal), or after birth (postnatal). One such complication is difficulty in hearing due to illnesses such as pneumonia, menigitis, measles etc. or strong antibiotics such as gentamycin and streptomycin.
Fortunately for today’s parents, children with hearing impairments now have access to sound via improved hearing aid and cochlear implants. It has been proven that with professionals and speech therapists, these children can learn to listen and talk like children with normal hearing.
At Favour Auditory-Oral School, these children are given quality education geared towards developing the listening skills, speech, language and cognitive intellect of the child by using a well-defined curriculum.
